In moments of inspiration, we always feel that any task is within our abilities. However, in the face of daily tasks, our enthusiasm cools off a bit and we have to choose what is a priority right now. Everything else takes a back seat and often remains unrealized, accompanied by a feeling of bitterness. Personally, for me, time management did not start with making a to-do list, although that is important too, but with focusing on the state of inspiration.
If something inspires you, then it is interesting. If the interest persists, then you carry out the task with pleasure. And the more practice you get, the better you become. The better the result, the more positive emotions arise. It is this positive attitude that helps me maintain the necessary level of productivity in most cases.
The most important thing for maintaining productivity is to maintain a sense of inspiration. You can find it even in everyday “boring” tasks. Once genuine interest comes into play, accomplishing the task brings pleasure.
How to focus on completing daily tasks? First of all, prioritize. Make a list of importance. Write down the most important tasks – what needs to be done now and in the coming days. And then – tasks for the future. This will give you a short-term and long-term plan. What you have indicated at the top of the list should be started immediately. TODAY. Otherwise, these tasks will remain unrealized.
For long-term tasks, you need to create a more detailed plan. In it, you will specify the steps that need to be taken every day or every week. For this, I have a special notebook. I made the layout for urgent tasks and long-term tasks myself. But now there are ready-made planner notebooks that you can simply write what needs to be done.
Today, make a list of the most important tasks. Start working on short-term tasks right away. For long-term tasks, create a more detailed plan, structure them – outline them by stages and steps. This will help make each task more understandable, and it will be much easier to complete it.
You will get additional inspiration if you pay attention to details. For me, as a visual person, the aesthetic aspect of the matter is extremely important. Therefore, I approach the choice of stationery and other items that surround me at home and in the workplace with all seriousness (shopping lovers will understand me :)). In short, allocate time once to buy the necessary quality attributes, and then every time you will enjoy using these items.
Maintain productivity by surrounding yourself with quality things. This is both your indirect investment in productivity and a saving of time and money. Quality things are more expensive, but they work better and last longer than cheap alternatives.
At certain times, I enjoy different colors and color combinations. Depending on this, I choose the color of the notebook cover and paper. I have an aromatic lamp on my desk while working. The room has exceptional lighting: a bright daylight lamp, soft yellow lamps for the evening, and illumination from different sides.
Engaging multiple senses and focusing on color, light, and scent provides a sense of comfort and helps to relax. In such conditions, it is much easier to focus on the task at hand. Any tension disappears, and only stable concentration remains.
Once, when I had to complete a lot of work and household tasks, I stopped, took a few deep breaths, and wrote down the three most important principles that would help me to manage all the tasks. It worked for me, and I hope these principles will be helpful for you too.
